Alan Hughes
Alan brings 20 years of international healthcare advisory, working alongside policymakers on the latest international trends. He is a regular panelist and healthcare commentator at summits across Europe and the Gulf.
Key themes he has worked on:
- acute and community care reform
- digital care, payment reform, health workforce solutions
- healthcare policy and government advisory
For 14 years he worked as a healthcare management consultant and policy strategist at KPMG. Prior to this he was in Investment Banking on Wall St and the City of London at Lehman Brothers and Dresdner Kleinwort working on 30 M&A healthcare transactions and five IPOs. Sectors included Life Sciences, nursing, community and acute care. He also worked on Global Strategy projects for Novartis in Switzerland.

Dr. Peter Carter, is an independent healthcare consultant and former General Secretary of the Royal College of Nursing. He is an Honorary fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners (Eng) and Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland. Dr. Carter trained for three years as a psychiatric nurse at Hill End Hospital in St Albans. He has an MBA and PhD from the University of Birmingham. He spent almost twelve years as CEO of the Central and North-West London Mental Health NHS Trust, and in January 2007 became CEO for the Royal College of Nursing.
